Hey guys remember me!
So everyone its been almost a year since my last post and lets just say many things have changed. The people in my life, my tastes, my goals and even my looks, I am going for the straight instead of curly look with my hair now in case you were wondering. Most of all school has changed this year I was so busy. I used to read just for fun but now I'm required for a book report every month. While taking college classes in high school which is actually challenging who would have thought haha... not me in the beginning of the year. Well I am determined to come back to blogging not just for enjoyment but for my career. Journalism is leaning more towards the Internet and I need experience and whats better then a blog that I love. Speaking of learning if any of you know about any good internships for summer involving journalism your info would be greatly appreciated. So as for changes to this blog I think I am going to focus on everything but of course fashion a lot too because its an important part of my life. Thanks guys

Mattresses! Yes Vera Wang is designing mattresses for Serta which sell from $900 to $3000 on sale right now at haverty's . At first I really didn't believe it until I saw for my own eyes and entered the contest of course to win one lol. I would really like to feel one don't they just look like pure magic haha. Well things have been pretty crazy around here, well more like busy doing nothing or busy working constantly then coming home and doing nothing! I was hoping to get in a post at least every other day but so far it hasn't happened so I am lowering my standards, now its at least once a week, I promise. I have been trying to comment and visit everyones blogs but I haven't had too much time for that either but I'm trying to catch up.

So I have become addicted to NYC Prep on Bravo, it is just so addictive! It is a lot like Gossip Girl though, which I find funny because I don't like the show I only like the books haha. I do find myself making fun of people a lot when I watch it though, but I guess that's just the fun of it. It really surprises me how much money can get you though, in one scene PC, who is 18 was offered a wine list at a restaurant and he said yes and it was brought to him! You can tune in NYC Prep on bravo on Tuesdays at 9:00. So guys I am really trying to post but after my last promise I got grounded and then went on vacation so my posting plans got put on hold but for now unless I get any further distractions I will be posting regularly! So I am off to plan some things for the day and do laundry!

I have to say from the few resort collections I just saw I just had to keep coming back to this outfit buy Basso & Brooke. I love the flowing of the dress and how the contours in the coat balances it perfectly and the splash of color and pattern is fantastic. Although I loved there whole collection this would have to be my favorite!

So yes guys I'm finally back for good! Things here have been manically crazy, I've been working a ton and moved since I last posted. Now we are almost completely back to normal and I really was ready to start blogging again. I am can't wait to begin reading every one's blogs again..... which is what I'm off to do.

I Need Thought Of Summer To Get Through The Day

I love this dress from Urban Outfitters and although I am working my butt off lately at $68 its still a little pricey on a childcare providers salary haha. I am so ready to get back into blogging again, I really miss it! Things have been literally one thing after another here but I'm hoping things will start to get back to normal soon. I am hoping to also get back into working out a lot again, I have been working on tuesdays and don't think I have been to a boot camp class in like 2 months. Although I did try this awesome class called zumba, its kind of like a latin dancing class and i am trying to do that and cardio fusion every monday.

Sorry for the lack of posting but I go strep this weekend and the only thing I could really do is lie in bed but thank goodness I am feeling almost 100% better. I know this outfit is kind of matchy matchy but I wanted to get the yellow brightness across. As soon as I saw this dress I wanted it too bad its $68 but that's Urban for ya. I am so ready for spring it was actually around 50 degrees today with little to no wind, which was a nice change to the bitter cold we've had the past few days. I am finally back I am going to start posting at least twice a week I have just been so lazy that I have not been commenting on others blogs or keeping up with my own. Hopefully I will get another post in by tomorrow or Friday. We just finished reading Romeo and Juliet and I am working on putting a Polyvore of my versions of their costumes up soon, so maybe that will be my next post.

Thankfully, today was a Snow Day which means no school. So that means that I am trapped here with my little brothers all day....... GREAT!!!! One is all ready punished ad the other one I am praying gets that way soon, I can't take them anymore. One plus side is that I get to play with Oliver9my new pup) all day. Aren't they so cute, ours, Oliver is the darker on and my aunt's, Salem, is light taller one. We drove all day up to PA in the mountains that were covered in snow to get them. It was worth it though. Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I was sick mostly all of last weekend and then my grandmother came last week. Hopefully I will post some more this week.

So before I go on I would like all of you to now that it just took me over an hour to get what is above me after having to do it three times the connection speed and the fact that the Internet kept on freezing up on me! So I realized today that I had not posted in a week but I was having bloggers block until visiting another blog and be reminded of polyvore. Basically I was inspired by the quote that was listed as a background on the site, it felt like a ah hah moment after really wondering what I was going to post about for the past few days. I love flowey things I always have, I used to wear dresses all the time when I was little. While on style.com looking for some ideas I stumbled upon this article about how to "Keep up your appearances" during the economic recession. I thought it was a pretty good of show how to get the look for less. If you haven't noticed already I try to keep everything on this blog I show in the affordable range except for those few exceptions. As we go through this economic term oil I am going to try my hardest to keep it that way showing that you can be stylish on a budget. While also staying with my theme of bringing in this year with kindness and helping people out. I never really got much a chance to thank my fellow bloggers for a great 2008 and I can't wait to make it even better in 2009. Thanks for all of your support!

Yes so my phone got stolen today my brand new phone and its been pouring and cold all day, I was late to school its just a mess!! But as I write this I feel so selfish being upset look at all the kids in the world who have nothing. I think instead of being upset I am going to take up some time on FreeRice.com. I will say one thing what makes me so made is that it was probably someone who thought I was gullible which I am. It really makes you question the world today. People gave Oprah a lot of grief over building he school in Africa instead of America but she was right, here we all want material things in other countries kids want what we take for granted every day. The Movie

Sorry I couldn't really find a good picture of Kirsten Stewart's dress, supposedly they were giving her some gripe about it I like it I wish that that patch of Burgundy wasn't in it or if they would have extended the Burgundy down and taken out the red it would have been better. So on to the movie, I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! Even though it wasn't so much like the books and they added and took some stuff away it was still a great movie. The only thing was that I didn't think they made Bella clumsy enough because the ending to someone who hasn't read the books is confusing because they would be thinking they never saw how clumsy she was how fake is it that she would fall down the steps. But other then Eric being Asian and and Mike being to much of a goof they were pretty on with the characters especially Alice. Jasper was a little tooo much, they made him too weird. Also Carsile in the hospital was way too white to pass for even somewhat normal I mean wayyy too much makeup. I think I might even go catch a matinee tomorrow because we want to see it again. Hopefully I will get a fashion post in tomorrow!

I like to wear short sleeve tops underneath sweaters and jackets because a lot of the time places have the heat cranked up. It is crazy how fast the holidays are approaching. I was a little bit too young for the Full House days but I had every movie almost every book and tons of their toys and clothes and in fact I still have the coat they wore in the opening scenes of So Little Time that me and my friend had to have and match actually she might still have hers too. Yes we were obsessed. I guess you could say they have influenced my fashion choices because I loved and love them so much. Are they a little too boho chic for my taste, yes but still. I don't know why but lately I have been really sentimental like listening to old Hilary Duff songs and thinking about things from when I was little not that it was that long ago. Well hopefully this was more satisfying then my last post. With the holidays I'm trying plan out some fred flare etc posts. Its just been hectic I am ready to get back to normal with not going to school on Thursday and Friday. Monday starts more time and a new marking period so a fresh start in other words and I'm ready. I have to add that I was feeling pretty American today with old navy jeans, flip flops and khaki blazer an a H&M plain white tee. I don't know why but it just felt more hmmm I don't know. Speaking of American don't forget to VOTE, I don't get political on this blog normally but still its your civic duty and I just wanted to remind you of it. BTW I can't even vote but don't think I'm being hypocritical though I'm just not old enough.

After reading this article in the NY Times tonight I knew I had to do a post on it.

Yes if the only thing you knew about the country was based on our movies and TV shows you would have no clue we were in an economic crumble. We have the rich and spoiled plastered over our favorite TV shows and book. Who can really resist ready Gossip Girl books and reading about all of their shopping sprees and parties with their who really cares attitude. I'm not a fan of the show but I know people adore it. Along with the Clique books too I mean a private school with no uniforms and a Starbucks in their school I mean come on, I know granted sometimes you really do just want to be like this is so fake but you get so caught up in it. "Young fans of such screen fantasies seem to remain fixated on the acquisitive habits, social conventions and moral iniquities of their super-rich fictional contemporaries. In “Schooled,” Anisha Lakhani’s acidic narrative about an Upper East Side private school, swarms of seventh graders at a party kick off their high heels before descending on the dance floor. I really like these shirts because they are not the classic orange and black Halloween shirts. I think I am going to get the mummy one to where to school on Halloween. Its funny because our school colors are orange and black so it always look like Halloween at our school and we have a football game that night. Well it took me forever to come up with even this minimal post I am finally by myself and I have been looking for music for my myspace page the whole time. Yes, my old reliable hair strengthener is dead after 4 years of work. It was my first straightener and had seen me through many bad hairstyles and was used ever day its service will never be forgotten. Yes guys Iwas pretty upset this morning but hey what can you really do it wasn't very good for my hair anyway. My friend actually told me that gold plated ones are better for your hair which my old one was like a certain type of plastic. So I went online and punched in straigthners under $20 on Target.com and got a surprising amount, all pretty good brands. It's pretty sad that I couldn't even find a picture of my old one.

So on Thursday I managed to trip and mess my foot up pretty bad. I am going to the doctors at 4:00 to see what really happened I think I just might have bruised it. I actually wasn't in heels but in the immortal flip flops. I had to post this video because I found it very funny and relating to my topic. So I watched the Coco Chanel movie for lifetime and I thought it was pretty good and I learned a lot. I had never really looked into her life before so I hope the movie was right in the facts department. The back to school party for my mom's moms group was good we had 16 adults and 25 kids in our townhouse funny thought isn't it. Well I hope everyone liked the movie and if you didn't see it then I hope you will watch it I am sure it will air for the next couple weeks. Also I made those cupcakes I said I would make for the party on a couple posts ago and they turned out pretty good.

Fashion Week...Relaxing?

So according to the "International Herald Tribune" Fashion Week's message has been focused around well relaxing, with loose beachy vibes drawing inspiration from far away places. The reasoning for the relaxing, "tropical prints combined with an easy slouch to evoke less stressful times." "When the economy is so bad and with the horrible things happening all around the world, one gets inspired to create a certain kind of beauty," as designer Narciso Rodriguez told The Associated Press before the shows began. He also promised an "anti-stress" collection later in the week. "When the economy slumps, some designers turn to bright colors and go beyond basics to lure customers into stores." To me this does make some sense. But as the average 15 minute fashion show for a top name designer ranges in the high hundred thousands and well into the millions also the thousands of dollars for on beach inspired dress, the beachy just want to relax vibes our obviously not appointed at the middle or even lower upper class people but the first rowers who can afford the new collection without a blink of an eye. I do see the shows and think wow that's a great idea but do the first rowers really feel the economy's decline, I am sure some do but not enough to stop them from drinking $1,000 champagne while most people don't make that much money in two weeks while people in most countries won't make that in two years. Sorry for the ramble, I actually did enjoy most of the collections yesterday that I have seen pictures of but i guess I just feel like how they say that they inspired a hundred thousand dollar outfit based on uplifting people from the economy failing.

Brief History:

Sorry but I had to post those "back to school" cartoons I thought they were pretty funny. Anyway I am back to regular posting the last week was pretty hectic with having to start school and all I just wanted to relax. Today was kinda easy I only got lost once which is what I put for my best accomplishment on my get to know you paper in health. The only thing is Tech Ed the teacher is nice but I have no interest in it but I have to take it to graduate and I pretty much get done what I need to graduate the first year which is pretty awesome. It's so weird not being called by my grade name and being called different names and I always get Sophomore and Junior confused. Well i hope all of you had a great day in school or not!

Being a Whole New you: Priceless

So yesterday I went to the clinique counter to get a little makeover, I had a great lady who didn't try to sell me the counter and take me out of all my money. She had gotten the wrong color and redid my face for me even though she didn't have my color in stock and had to get it from her supplies. Then she even gave me a little bottle full of it so I would have it until it came into stock and didn't charge me for it. But all in all my bill did come out to about $83 and of course I didn't come on the day when they give a cool tote bag or lip gloss if you spend over $35 I got two little journals but they are Eco friendly and pretty cool. Well I came into the house and my little brother looked at me and said "kiki you look new' for those of you that don't know kiki is not my real name but everyone in my family calls me that because my little brother couldn't say my real name and it stuck and no it is not Kirstin is doesn't even start with a K and kiki really has no relation to my name at all but moving on. I really do love it and I look really different if you are looking for makeup go for clinique its worth the money. I still feel guilty for spending that much. I tend to only like to spend theoretical money like sometimes if I am bored I will go online and give my self a fake $1,000 shopping spree dorky I know but I hate spending other peoples money and when your 14 that's all you really can do. But I am known as a first national bank because I always lend people money which is why I always have none and whats really funny is my parents are the ones who I lend the money too.

This is by far my favorite post in a long time manly because I am obsessed with the hippie look lately after watching a biography on he bio Chanel. Most people think that hippies were saying something b there look but basically they wore the clothes that hey were given or had made. hippies were manly poor, mostly all teenagers especially in the San Fransisco area where thousands of baby boomers flocked each day. Most of them took everything that was given to them because they could not afford it that's how communes started they were apartments given to them so they would have a place to stay. Its all really interesting. but anyway hope you enjoy some of the pics. I am going shopping today for some minor back to school things. i can't wait to post what i get.

No Rotten Tomatoes Please

Yes I know I have been a very bad blogger but I have very good reasons for my little hiatus. First my sunburn is still pretty bad which means that I didn't go to camp :( so I was really mad which did not give me much time to really think about what it write cause I was in a lot of pain. but also the other night right before I was about to post my computer had gotten a virus. If you get a pop up on the screen DO NOT hit X hit CRTRL(control) C4 that will close the last window you were on which would be the pop-up because know the crazy have so much time on their hands jerks that hack our computers have put viruses in the X button, isn't that just great. So after today or maybe the next depending on the computer situation since all the files aren't fully deleted I will be back to posting regularly with our new back to school posts because according to my calender there is 16 more days til school starts for me (Aug. 25) as if I didn't have enough to be upset about!

Burn'n in The Sun

So I got into that camp I was telling you guys about, the adventure one where we go white water rafting, rock climbing, surfing and a couple other things. Well today was rock climbing and I couldn't go because yesterday when we went white water rafting in the Shenandoah and Potomac river in West Virgina, I got pretty much burnt to a crisp. I guess rafting for 3 hours gets you some sun? Of course but silly me who never burns didn't put any sunscreen on and what happened I burned like an egg on a hot sidewalk in the middle of July or August rather. but I had a blast and it sucked that I missed out on Rock climbing but tomorrow I am going surfing which I've never done so that should be an experience I had to tell you about my camp but after this week I will do my post on England and then it will be time for back to school.

First off please visit this post before you read just to get some more info on Our Trip To Europe. I have always wanted to go to Ireland all of it, but for our lack of time(I would like have "visited" most of Europe in a week) we are just going to Dublin although depending on time we will come back and maybe go to Cork, Ireland.

Barnacles is about as budget as you can get in the Dublin city centre. Even so, this centrally-located hostel stands out. The rooms are simple and all have en-suite showers, and despite being small, they are certainly clean. There is a large TV/sitting room with an open fire and bright, comfortable furniture. This spot is very popular with backpackers and located right in Temple Bar, where most of Dublin's nightlife can be found. It's a great place to meet fellow travellers. Restaurants

The Shack restaurant has two locations: one across from Dublin Castle (close to the Jury's Christchurch Inn) and the other in Temple Bar. Both aim to please those in search of an "Old World" atmosphere and mostly Irish food. Bacon and cabbage or "Shack-style" prawns are always on the menu, as well as the odd enchilada, steak, or seabass, sambuca and fennel. The interior is suitably decorated, with antique pine and wood furnishings and a welcoming turf fire. Candlelit dinners are a speciality of the house. All at great prices too. Johnnie Fox's prides itself on being "the highest pub in Ireland". A trip up the Dublin mountains to this pub should certainly give you the chance to immerse yourself in Irish culture. It also happens to have won the Egon Ronay "Best Food Award Winner" for four years running, as well as the "James Joyce Pub Award". The atmosphere is everything you'd want in a traditional Irish pub and - despite the traditional choice of ingredients - the food is better than you'd think. A little more expensive but the food looks fantastic. Refresh your mind and soul with a visit to the National Gallery of Ireland, with its superb collection of European masterpieces. British, Dutch, Flemish, French, Italian, German and Spanish schools are all well represented, while the Yeats Room is a fantastic tribute to the work of this most creative of Irish families. The National Gallery also features a recently opened multimedia facility boasting touchscreen information on every exhibit. Ardgillan Castle Garden, this 18th-century castle and garden was built by the Dean of Clonfert in 1738 and boasts superb views of the Dublin coastline and countryside. Now furnished and restored in Victorian style, Ardgillan houses a permanent exhibition of 17th-century Down Survey maps of Ireland. The garden features a conservatory and rose garden, including sections for herbs, vegetables and Irish plants. Rumours abound that there's also a ghost on the premises! Visit their website here.

St. Patrick's is one of two Anglican cathedrals in Dublin. It is built on the site where St Patrick is said to have baptized converts to Christianity. St Patrick's Cathedral, in its present state, was constructed in 1192, replacing an original wooden chapel. The main attractions in St Patrick's are the tombs of Jonathan Swift and his lover in the nave. The cathedral also contains the longest medieval nave in Ireland, and a stone slab, engraved with a Celtic cross, that covers the well from which St Patrick baptized the converts. Dublin Castle symbolised English rule for 700 years, ever since the Anglo-Normans built their fortress on this site. Later, the castle was to serve as the headquarters of the English-appointed Viceroy of Ireland. It was not until 1922 that it was finally handed over to the Irish Free State. Guided tours include the palatial State Apartments of the castle. Historical items of interest include a throne donated by King William of Orange and a variety of banners of the now-disbanded Knights of St Patrick. The Castle is very much a working series of buildings: it is used for State functions, and many government agencies are based here. There is a great deal for the visitor to see, including the Chapel Royal, the formal gardens, the Crypt Theatre and the splendid Chester Beatty Museum. In all ways, an essential visit. The recently refurbished Powerscourt Townhouse is one of the classier shopping centres in town, favoured by upwardly mobile types and those who enjoy the finer things in life. This centre is exclusive, luxurious and designer-orientated, with several interesting restaurants and a glass-roofed atrium used for recitals, jazz evenings and fashion shows. The key tenant in Powerscourt is the excellent Design Centre, which showcases the best Irish designers; it has recently been joined by branches of French Connection and Karen Millen, as well as several excellent cafes. Yes, this has been done by many bloggers before me, but we are going on a blogging trip to Europe. As you all know I complain constantly about having never being off the east coast and how I was not doing anything this summer. Well now I am, actually we are! OK we are setting off ether tomorrow or the next day. Our first destination........ Ireland, a place I have always wanted to go. These post will be long but not monstrous. Each country will get one post or maybe two. I am thinking these post will all together take a week maybe a week and a half then it will be time for "Back to School" and you all know how I love shopping, but don't think that fashion will be out of the picture during these next few post.

So as I was watching my "Reba" per usual when nothing is on at this time I saw a commercial for the new "Coco Chanel" mini series coming in September on Lifetime. Surprisingly Shirley MacLaine was cast as the lovely Miss Coco. Here's the link for more information. I think it should be interesting and according to the article Karl Lagerfeld has given his blessings but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be fantastic. But anyway I am not going to be spending the next couple days with my grandparent's house because my grandfather came home today and is still really contagious. I did however go spend the day with my great grandmother(mom-mom). We looked through jewelry(which I will get around to posting) , pictures and talked about when I was younger and her childhood and of course her 7 brothers and sisters. talking to her really made me want to go back to the forties.

A Whole Year!!!

So I'm back from my grandparent's house and boy was it more then I expected. Today my grandfather went to the doctor for a checkup because he has a staph infection and they ended up putting him in the hospital to watch and keep him on an IV. But aside from my crazy day its my 1 year blogging anniversary. I have learned a lot from my first post in which I could not figure out how to post a picture. A ton of you have been with me since the first day and I thank you for that. Hope everyone has a great week I think mine is going to be kinda busy but I am hoping to at least post tomorrow.

A couple days ago I was in the library and found this book called "Fashion Victim, our love hate relationship with dressing, shopping and the cost of style". It is actually really good it was written in 2003 but it is not very out of date as far as fashion is concerned. It is sectioned into parts while reading the first I found some interesting things I thought that my blogger friends would find interesting even though most of my family did not. OK so the major thing is that designers engage in multi million dollar licensing deals offering their names for use by others to make and promote a variety of products. In the 1970's designers like Valentino and Pierre Cardin began to license their names for everything from sheets to luggage to toilet-seat covers, by 1970 the House of Cardin had licensed its name for use on more then 600 products. Kenneth Cole has admitted that his company licenses out most of what it does, except shoes and women's handbags. Also some other well-known brands make the products for other well know brands. Fossil designs, manufactures, markets and distributes Burberry watches. Liz Claiborne holds the exclusive license to design and produce DKNY jeans. Estee Lauder holds rights to make fragrances for both Tommy Hilfiger and Donna Karen. There are many other interesting things in the book too, which I totally recommend. Today is busy as usual, work in the morning then come home post, go back to my job for my little brother's swim lessons, work out, come home eat dinner and then do it all over again tomorrow. OK I know this wasn't very fashiony but it was still about fashion :) hopefully a nice long fashion post will be in the works very soon

I am so done I went to wok today and of course on the busiest days we were short two people and we ended up staying longer this whole not getting paid thing sucks because I work just as hard and the only thing I have to show for it is service learning hours which really I would rather right now have money. I am really independent money wise and I hate asking my parents for something if I want so for me the whole being broke thing sucks considering I am normally the first national bank of Kiki. I'm sorry this isn't a fashion post but I have to go back to work for a couple hours tonight and workout. I am aching from Pilate's class last night but it was fun at least. I hate being fatigued because you feel drained but can't sleep.

well I will be back hopefully tomorrow I think I might stay home, which is the only plus of not being paid, I make my own hours, although that's not really true a lot of the times I don't.

Every where I turn lately there is this magenta color. I was on coach gaping at the expensive handbags and found the above shoes and at a whomping $158 thought if I was to put these on my blog I need a cheap alternative so I got to thinking and remembered the flats that I had seen on the Nine West site. Now when I first saw them they were $79.99 so I went on Nine West and figured I should check at Target too because I didn't want to post anything really expensive and not give an alternative but I was about to behold that they were on sale for $29.99 and they didn't have only 1 size left ether the only size sold out is 10 and a half but I don't know how long they will last if any of you 9's out there steal my shoe I will be mad :) because as soon a I can get my sewing machine sold they are mine!! Speaking of visit my ebay auction here. OK so on with the post I am taking the One Hundred Push Up Challenge and you should too. So it works like this in 6 weeks you will be able to do 100 push ups in a row and if you can already do that then first of all, ladedada to you perfect person but seriously they have extra steps for you like reaching 200 etc. Its pretty cool and even though it sounds like a long time its not a quick fix and it teaches your body to be able to handle 100 push ups at a time or more. So for those of you who don't know and I don't think anyone should unless my memory is wrong and I told you before which is a great possibility, I am not doing anything really this summer all my trips got canceled and etc but when I found out I could ditch the little kid camps my mom signed me up for and go to a camp that I could go whitewater rafting, rock climbing, surfing and more I had to go. Well apparently everyone else did too because it was full and now I am on a waiting list so its back to square one of summer plans. But look on the bright side I can be bored everyday instead of going whitewater rafting yes, I am a little bitter.

Yes another season more designers but what conceited designers there are none of them showed very much potential.. yet, except a few but all thought they were the poo(that was not meant to rhyme). I have to say Suede's whackadoodle comment was so funny although I was the only one to laugh. Did anyone else see Leanne pick a wedgie as she walked out the door. And what was that poor man thinking with the plumbing gloves dear GOD. So anyway that's all I really have to say about it at the moment. On to another show called "The Baby Borrowers" it is hilarious but I mean how stupid could you be to think you could handle a kid that young come on. Next week they get teenagers that will be great, if you don't watch just tune in Wednesdays at 9:00(same time a Project Runway I recommend DVR).

OK by everyone sorry for the rushed post but I have got to start reading "Catch 22" by Joseph Heller, I finished "Emma" by Jane Austen it was great, it was the first book I have read in a while that didn't have tons of symbolism for me to decipher.

So many things have happened the first being the NEW J. Crew store about a half an hour away from us, it is located in the Outlets but I think it is going to be a retail store which sucks because they are so expensive but their sales are pretty decent they have a huge sale right now but its still pretty expensive. But with more news I am almost finished "Emma" by Jane Austen it is really good. It was so funny being at my grandparent's it was so peaceful and quiet while I'm used to the loudness of a full house. My grandmother has a room set up for people that stay but its really for her granddaughters me and my cousin. Well this room is very pink and girly and looks like something out of "Country Living" magazine. My vans look so out of place under my grandfather and grandmother's christening gowns. My ipod looks even funnier laying next to my grandmothers first set of pearls which hang so gracefully from an antique jewelry box, I am not lying its perfect I am going to take pictures next time. Well I am not going to deprave my brother of my attentions any longer and have to go play with him and can be so sweet when he wants to be

I love, like most people having that back from the beach glow during the summer but first of all tanning is bad for your skin and its super boring I have better things to do then sitting out in the sun worrying about getting skin cancer. So I love self/gradual tanners. I don't normally use bronzer but I think I might start. I tan differently then most people I burn then in about 2 hours later I turn tan it's odd and I think it has something to do with the Cherokee blood in me because they had more red in their skin then dark brown. I have really started to love physicians formula makeup because it works good and doesn't hurt my skin. My aunt uses clinique which makes her look 20 years younger so I'd like to try that also I'm a sucker for those free gifts that they always give.

So any way today I watched my mom's friends little girl after working at the Y for a couple hours. She is such a trip, she's only 20 months but she has such a unique personality. Tonight I plan on going to the gym and working out I was going to do a yoga class at 5:15 but seeing as it is already 4 and I am so tired and still have to finish reading "Crime and Punishment"for my summer reading and my mom still has to go to the store and make dinner and well I will have to think of more excuses later. Dancing in the rain

So I have finally made it to the polyore.com that has swept the fashion blogger nation. As I was messing around and making a "set" it was pouring so I decided to do a "dancing in the rain" outfit. So I made up a story too, how exciting right? Well so I was walking along and just happened to be wearing yellow flats and carrying in yellow umbrella(my take on the yellow rain coat) and then out of no where it started to rain so I tied up my hair in a ravishing hair tie, put my sunglasses on top of my head and scooped up my Jimmy Choo bag and decided I should run and dance in the street in my mui mui Mary Jane looking shoes. Like that would happen. I have decided that I love polyvore I didn't think they would have very many options but it is fantastic. So I finally got into the gm again today it wasn't that bad getting into again but I have been using that acne stuff differn and I just found out I had been using it wrong well boy was that a mistake because my skin is super irritated and it was stinging as I was sweating it was horrible. Please if you use differn only use it ONCE a day and never more then a PEA size amount.

Anyone For A Sewing Machine?

Ok so I just realized not too long ago that I have a abundance of sewing machines right now meaning 2 so basically I don't need one of them but I really need some money so after a lot of thought my brain finally got... sell your extra sewing machine. As I asked yesterday if anyone is in need of a sewing machine let me know I really don't wish to mess with eBay. It is in really great condition and works perfectly its a $180 Kenmore 51 stitch function sewing machine. I am selling it for $110 plus shipping cost but that can be negotiated. Please please just let me know if you are interested I really need the money :). But on to 4th of July, first off I hope every one's was great, I went to a cookout you think we were all southern the way we had it with beans barbecue chicken, pasta salad, deviled eggs, corn on the cob, sweet tea etc and then after that we all lazyed around and I took my grandmothers dog for a long walk to bad that probably didn't even work off the calories in half of a deviled egg. The only thing bad was that it rained and the fireworks got canceled and then our TV went out as we were watching "A Capitol Fourth" but it finally turned back on for us to watch the fireworks in NYC. If it doesn't rain tonight we are going to watch fireworks in the next town over. Oh yeah I forgot to mention we had pizza bites and subway for dinner instead of normally crabs they are getting so expensive lately and my stepdad went out and didn't catch a single one. So hope everyone had a great time.

I can not stop thinking about my back to school wardrobe, I guess because of the sales and the fashion magazines I've been pouring over. I absolutely love Forever 21 they have great clothes and pretty accurate fashion statements although a lot of them are copies from designers. Well after dealing with children from the YMCA where I am volunteering I am done some of them make Dennis The Menace look like an angel child.

So if any of you readers have been up one morning and turned on the TV you know that what Bare Minerals is along with the "magic bullet", the "ab lounger" and of course other endless amount of "as seen on TV" crap. For all of you who actually called about the product in question Bare Minerals, does it work or is it just another scummy type product like the pancake flipper. We have a store "Bare Essentials" about 45 minutes away and I've been wanting to try it but is it worth it? Please let me know if you know anyone who has tried it or you yourself have and what you/they thought. And if not what makeup product you prefer.

Ok so yes these are $50 "fitflops" by Bath And Body Works and I am really wanting them know even if it is a ridiculous price. My mom got this email about Neiman Marcus cookies a couple months ago and I have to share it with you.

My daughter and I had just finished a salad at a Neiman-Marcus Cafe in Dallas , and we decided to have a small dessert. Because both of us are such cookie lovers, we decided to try the 'Neiman-Marcus cookie.' It was so excellent that I asked if they would give me the recipe, and the waitress said with a small frown, 'I'm afraid not, but you can buy The Recipe.' Well, I asked how much, and she responded; 'Only two fifty - it's a great deal!' I agreed to that, and told her to just add it to my Tab. Thirty days later, I received my VISA statement, and the Neiman-Marcus Charge was $285.00! I looked again, and I remembered I had only spent $9.95 for two salads and about $20.00 for a scarf. As I glanced at the bottom of the statement, it said, ' Cookie Recipe-$250.00. ' That was outrageous! I called Neiman's Accounting Department and told them the waitress said it was ' two fifty ' , which clearly does not mean 'two hundred and fifty dollars' by any reasonable interpretation of the phrase. Neiman-Marcus refused to budge. ; They would not refund my money because, according to them, 'What the waitress told you is not our problem. You have already seen the Recipe. We absolutely will not refund your money at this point.' I explained to the Accounting Department lady the criminal statutes which govern fraud in the State of Texas I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General's office for engaging in fraud. I was basically told, ' Do what you want. Don't bothe r thinking of how you can get even, and don't bother trying to get any of your money back.' I just said, 'Okay, you folks got my $250, and now I'm going to have $250 worth of fun.' I told her that I was going to see to it that every Cookie Lover in the United States with an e-mail account has a $250 cookie recipe from Neiman-Marcus...for free. She replied, 'I wish you wouldn't do this.' I said, 'Well, perhaps you should have thought of that before you ripped me of f!' and slammed down the phone. So here it is! Please, please, please pass it on to everyone you can possibly think of. I paid $250 for this, and I don't want Neiman-Marcus to EVER make another penny off of this recipe!

NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES (Recipe may be halved)

2 cups butter

24 oz. Chocolate chips

4 cups flour 2

cups brown sugar 2

tsp. Soda

1 tsp. Salt

2 cups sugar

1 - 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)

5 cups blended oatmeal

4 eggs

2 tsp. Baking powder

2 tsp. Vanilla

3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips , Hershey bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Makes 112 cookies

Well hope you make the cookies and like them I have no clue if this is a true story but its kinda comical.

OK so I got a text message today from Urban Outfitters (I am apart of there text club) about a "secret sale". It's more like I was one of the thousands of people to know about it first lol. But its an extra 20% off of an already reduced sale price. Its only til the 25Th. All you have to do is enter SECRETSALE2 at the checkout. I really hope Urban isn't mad about this since many people already know about it and it will be released soon. Plus most people who read this blog like Urban so they probably already know. These outfits above are from Old Navy's "Spotlight Collection" overall its small but I love some of the pieces great for night looks. But as I have said in many post before I am BROKE so even Old Navy's rather cheap prices are too much now. I love Gap Inc. new way of shopping online, you have one cart for Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Piperlime. Also a flat rate fee of $7 for shipping which is pretty good especially for me because I love all of those stores. I have been watching the travel channel a lot lately because I have already begun planning for my backpack through Europe the summer after high school i mean 4 years isn't too much right? LOL. Since I've been spending some time at the gym I figured I should do a "gym clothes" post. This stuff is all out of my price range at the moment so I will be sticking to the sweat pants and tee shirts. Its been 9 days since I've had soda. Also I did 45 minutes elliptical machine(its kind of a weird one it looks like skis and you push to move it up and down) and 2 sets of 10 chest presses. Although my milkshake and cheeseburger really didn't help me. Well I'm off to enjoy some quiet time.

A Day At The Beach

Well today we went to the major tourist trap that is Ocean City. I really just wanted to relax and walk on the beach and up the boardwalk for a while before we had to leave to get to my brothers swim lessons at four. As we got close to the Ocean we saw that there was a fire parade and that to expect traffic so our peaceful its Wednesday no one will be there relaxing day didn't happen. We didn't even see the ocean or the sand. We got Thrashers and went to watch the parade in the mini van with my 2 cousins 9 years and 6 months and my 3 siblings 7 years, 4 years and 7 months. Doesn't that sound fantastic. Then we came home and went to the Y and swam then took 5 children home wet!!! I am done and to top it all off I can not get the pictures I took off my phone!!!!!! Now as I type it is storming.

She's Shifted

So before I begin I was trying to go for a parody on "she's gifted". I really like this dress I've posted it before I believe. We hit up some great yard sales this this morning but I probably won't be able to post pictures until late Tuesday or Wednesday. To be random for a moment, I always complain about my brothers but right now I am almost craving noise after being with my grandparents, not that it wasn't a nice break. Right now I'm at my dad's so I have my soon to be 7 year old(June 18Th) brother but he's not as well loud. I really miss my little sister though.So here's the dealeo(every time I hear that I think Lizzie Mcguire) I have been trying to work out everyday........ trying is the key word. I have given up soda all kinds cold turkey I'm thinking about making a counter for days I go without it I am dying for caffeine and carbonation!!! But those clothes aren't going to fit into themselves if that makes sense. Well here is the scoop the reason that I am trying to up my "style factor" lately is because drum roll please.............. I am going to high school next year!! Yes people I am only 14 hopefully none of you just went OH MY GOD and died from shock!! (yup she's 14 and sarcastic). So bye peoples see you on Monday probably!! How many of you wanted these when you were 5 and never got them I know I did!! I remember going into the store and seeing these shoes well not this pair these are mui mui and I doubt that Wall mart or payless carried mui mui. Well I was always told "You have nothing to wear with them", "There hideous". Well I never got them and eventually grew out of wanting them, that didn't mean I didn't pick them up and sigh at my childhood dream shoes every time I went through the children's section at payless and etc. with my little cousin (who got a pair of them that she wore maybe twice). As of May 23,2008 Vogue marked these as faves so there mom even Vogue loves them!!

The title is true.. I can change my mind. for those of you who read my last post you saw my would be award ceremony dress but because I found out today that it is not going to be dressy like last years was I have to change my outfit. i really love my other dress but it really does look more dressy on. So i have gone with this strapless dress an cardigan which look less dressy on and can be worn over the summer. but I am still in need of an idea for sandalish shoes that are school appropriate!!!
